Just recalled something Darren Brown said in an interview. It went along the lines that he thinks if you hold wierd believes it's better to shut up about them. I guess he has a point there.

Judging from Rebs response i went waaay overboard.

I guess i am slowly learning this lesson.

Actually, I'd prefer that you expound upon your point rather than evading the issue. Your belief is already out there (more or less), so if you really think it's true, explain and defend it dude :) .

Exactly. I don't mind in the slightest that Kelem believes in astrology, I just want to know why he thinks it's true.

Hehe.. it's exactly these lines that entice me to try to do so. I fall for it and regret it every time.

Oh well.. i'll give it a shot nevertheless (for your amusement). Do You know Peter Pan? Everytime you say you don't Believe In Faeries a faerie dies. What i Believe runs along this lines. I think that In Whatever you believe is true. So everything merely depends on whether You Want things to be true or not. Once you start believing something, even if it may sound fantastic, It Will - fueled by your believes - Become True.

Agreed. It sometimes doesn't ring true to what i know.

I'm not sure what it has to do with astrology, but dreaming about materializing thoughts has been often contrasted in human psychology with the desire to remain in a child-like state, prefering blissful ignorance over a harsher reality.

I, or anyone else here, aren't here to mock you for your beliefs or make fun of them. But really thinking that thoughts can materialize if you wish/beileve in it, is unrealistic. Thoughts can not alter reality. You could sit in a dark room for 70 years wishing for a spark of light to appear with all your energy; Nothing would happen.

That can, at best, happen in a fantasy movie. Even religions take advantage of the fact people noticed they can't just pray for a God to make a change for them.

God helps those who help themselves

If you want to see change in the world, be the change

Nothing happens by pure thought or wishful thinking.
