The Main Stock, in most stores sell an infinite ammount of whatever the store carries normally (in your case, runes). So all the main runes are 17gp and the bodies are 16. Then deaths and chaos runes are something else. You can buy however much you want, but the prices won't change. Your friends probably saying it's hard to merchant off of it, as the Player Stock is rarely full. (I noticed this as well come back from RS from a 2 year break. Some shops lost particular stock items, some shops gained. A great shop is the Dorgeshuun Weapons Shop where you can buy a Dorgeshuun Xbow for 2k, and infinite bone bolts for 4gp.
