On tif, is it telling me how many runes I need to craft, or how many essence I need to use?

Here I know how you're misconcepted...

 

 

 

When you can make multiple runes at a certain level, you DON'T recieve double the exp, because the exp is per essence, not rune. So it tells you how many essence you need to craft INTO runes, not how many runes you need to make.
