I want to kill some shades, but with 62 def, full rune, d legs, and 43 prayer, would it be better to kill them with prayer or food. I'm talking about the lvl 100 ones by the way.

 

Also, would dlong or gadderhammer be better against them?

prayer works well. but id suggest monks/preferabbly proselyte to pray aginst them. Either way really, and long for extra defense(from shield of course :))
