Vape
Because I told you to and because it says in the hijackthis documentation and because hijackthis will only make backups if it's in its own folder (and you can do serious damage to your pc with hijackthis, you need to be able to step backwards if you make mistakes.) grin_king
Well, for one, rather than running it directly from the ZIP file, you should extract it somewhere like C:\Temp and run it from there. What is this?: C:\Program Files"sorry, it's still illegal""sorry, it's still illegal".e3e (CAUTION - executable file) That is SwiftSwitch, which is not allowed on these forums, and is in a rather grey area at the moment with Jagex as to whether or not it is also legal to use for Runescape. So, aside from telling you not to post anything on here regarding that (or any other 3rd party clients) on these forums... I will also recommend you not to use it ;) Now... in the mean-time... get the latest version of HiJackThis, and post the ENTIRE log for us - including the part at the top that you cut off. Vape
Grab the exe file from C:\Documents and Settings\Joey Papin\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Directory 1 for hijackthis.zip and hit ctrl + x Go to C:\Program Files and create a new folder called "Hijackthis." Open it and hit crtrl+v Sorry it's still illegal is the board censor telling you that you're not allowed to discuss 3rd party clients here. Where the bloody hell are you? grin_king
I'm not hiding anything if that's what you're implicating. No, I was not saying you were hiding anything, I was saying you weren't showing us all the information we needed to help you :P And "sorry, it's still illegal" is legal, but that isn't the point. May want to read my post again kiddo... as I said, firstly it is NOT allowed on these forums... I don't care whether it's legal or not elsewhere (and that seems to change from day to day)... it's NOT allowed here :) Now for your log... First things first - you're only on Service Pack 1 of XP... time to upgrade to SP2. You labelled this as urgent (which I tend to ignore, btw), but I see no reason it should have been. Next time an explanation as to WHY you expect us to spend time looking through your HJT log would be appreciated :) One-time #13 smither.All-time #1 noob. But when I rebooted, my computer speed was much much slower. Btw, I had SP2 on my comp but it slowed it down. And my firewall is Norton
