Google90
Hi. Does anybody know a program that I can download, where I input English text into it, and you can play the text with different accents? I am looking for a German accent primarily. But if there is a program with more than one accent plug-in, that would be fine. I need this for a play that I am in school. Thanks
BlueLancer
Hi, Try this. http://www.naturalvoices.att.com/demos/ If you select 'German' with the voice subtybe 'Reiner', and write something in English.. You'll get what you're looking for. You can also produce some pretty funny stuff with it. Edit- I typed a part of your post in it, it actually sounds very professional: I am looking for a German accent primarily. But if there is a program with more than one accent plug-in, that would be fine.

But it's still funny :-w I don't like the fact that you have to download the files :wall: My friend on xbox live was using something that made him sound German in a CRISP CLEAR voice. He wouldn't tell me how he did it. Could it be a machine that he was speaking through? Edit- I just googled text-to-speech voices and I found a lot of results, so I'll be busy with this
BlueLancer
Not sure about the Xbox thing since he could've just been using a voice converter (like some females use while gaming, to appear male in team radio... To avoid hormone driven idiotic 14 year old males from pestering them) BTW: That site doesn't require downloading of anything, but it does limit to 30 words at once. Try this one as well: http://www.cepstral.com/ I typed random article exerpts into that, it sounded pretty normal

What I mean by downloading is you have to download the small .wav file of text you entered to play it. ugh, none of these sound natural. They all sill sound like robots, probably because I'm manipulating them to speak another language.
Darkluniux
If you want a natural one that doesn't sound like a robot, the try Loquendo! Google search Loquendo, ther eis a demo page were you write text and select the language and accent, the bad thing is there is an odd sound in the recording saying "looooqueeeendooO" until you buy the program for 30 dollards or ilegally download it using E-mule as we all do... http://darkluniux.blogspot.comBehold my blog! Thou shalt visit it and rejoice!
