May 1, 200521 yr In Ardougne today, I saw a lvl 61 who donned a rune plate, yet addy legs and helm, mercilessly hammering upon a guard with a granite maul. The hits went something like: "2, 1, 2, 1, 1, 4..." and were highlighted by a whopping "5." :) People can save up and buy whatever they like, that's what's great about RS, but I think he probably should have bought the rest of his rune :) Thoughts? lpinkus
May 1, 200521 yr what u can hit is sometimes very random. Maybe his attack was low, so he wouldnt hit high a lot.
May 1, 200521 yr Mauls are only good for pking. Actually, the only time they're good for pking is when your spec is full...
May 1, 200521 yr Author Who ever trains with a Granite Maul doesn't have alot of grey matter.... Except for the big grey stone on the end of the maul :) And I understand that his attack lvl was low, that's why it was funny. lpinkus
May 1, 200521 yr Guards wear chain armour, its defense being effective against crush, his att was probably low and to top it all of, the maul is very inaffective as a training weapon.
May 1, 200521 yr Honestly I think mauls are not too great of a weapon. They only are really effective when they are on full spec, and it takes quite a while to get the spec up again. It seems slower than a 2H..
May 2, 200521 yr Your attack only affects chance to hit, not how high you hit. Likewise for the guard's chainmail. My thoughts? Yay for completely random damage and lack of a minimum damage something.

May 19, 200521 yr Author Sorry, had to follow up with this. I saw another lvl 62 or so with a granite maul in Ardougne. He attacked a paladin, and the paladin was owning him and the guy had to run :) lpinkus
