I am planning on upgrading my 64mb card to a 256 video card... So heres my question Below

Question: I have a 64 mb internal card... but i am wondering if i can install a 256 pci video card. I dont want to use the 64 mb internal card only the pci one. I am just wondering if i can install one. Theres no way i can remove the 64 megabyte one since its internal. Will i have any problems if i install my 256 1?

Im pretty sure that the internal card u have now is an AGP card...

U can take it out but its ur choice and a 256 pci card will work fine...

But if u usin them together, u might have some issues between both of them so i would get the new card first and get rid of the 64 card

You can use that 256MB card if you wish. Just either disable the on-board card through the BIOS or alternatively through the Device Manager in Windows. Disabling the old card will help to avoid conflicts.

RIght click my computer >> properties >> hardware >> device manager >> display adaptors

Look for the onboard card (it might not be in display adapters) but it WILL be somewhere in the device manager list, possibly near your MB stuff... then just select it and choose to 'uninstall' it which will basically tell your computer to ignore that it even exists untill you choose to 'install' it, which I don't see why you would ever need\want to

...

a decent 128 card will be just as good if not better than a lot of 256 cards
