kaldra_champ
Current Events As I'm sure we've all seen, heard about, or even joined into, large scale riots grab the attention of Jagex staff. However, rather than senselessly complain, as individuals, about an update that's already been made, this protest is meant to show a unified group's support to prevent an update that doesn't need to be made. Jagex has fought, vicously, to destroy bots. There is no longer any means of transferring gold illegally, and several gold selling sites have already given up on creating gold farming accounts: " Money Considering the update in Runescape those days , trading gold or items in game is impossible. Now we provide a new way for deliver RS gold for you. 1. Please provide your account name and pass when you place an RS gold order. 2. The professtional levelers will login the account to farm the gold for you. 3. The finish time of your order will depend on the level states of your account. When your order is completed, we will email you to notify." Now, they're trying to scam innocent players out of their accounts, and as shifty business goes, they're likely to simply take the money and run; after all, why do the work when you've already been paid? They aren't honest players to begin with, I can't see them starting anytime soon. Any player giving a gold farmer their password is foolish, and will likely receive none of the gold they paid for. At this point, there is NO reason to continue this crusade. They've already been stopped to the fullest extent they can be stopped. Our Cause Jagex's final blow to bots was forcing Balanced Trading. All new accounts have had this limitation placed on them; no new accounts can be used to farm gold. As bots were always on relatively new accounts (as their old ones were banned), there aren't any left in the game and none can farm on any new account they start. Gold farming has been eliminated, and there is NO further need for action. However, Jagex has taken one step too far. During the first week of January, Jagex plans to place Balanced Trading on ALL accounts! No more gift-giving, no more healing a friend in need of food, no more borrowing items, and no more acts of generosity whatsoever! We MUST stop this limitation from being implemented! [*:2pape0br]Need to teleport? No runes? Fast Free Laws, at your service! Oh, wait! Essence for runes is an unbalanced trade! Enjoy your walk! [*:2pape0br]Poisoned? Need some food and a cure? Not to worry, a friend has a few extra supplies! Oh, wait, giving the food is an unbalanced trade! Help yourself to a one-way ticket to Lumbridge. [*:2pape0br]Looking to improve your Woodcutting? Here, borrow my axe! Oh, wait, lending a tool is an unbalanced trade! Well, chop a few logs, I'm sure you'll have the money for one in no time! Oh, right... [*:2pape0br]Happy Birthday! Here's a present! Oh, wait, gift-giving of any sort is an unbalanced trade! Well, it's the thought that counts... The game may not be dead yet, but it's on its last few HP. If they implement Balanced Trading for veterans, the game WILL be ruined! We have to stop them from making this tyrannical change to the loyal, hardworking, honest RuneScape veterans! Of course, the question you're all asking: How can we stop it? The answer is simple. We must organize. Rioters shouting their heads off about 50 different topics never get anything accomplished; each one arrives with his own ideas and there's simply too many people prattling on about different things for the company to take any of it seriously. As much you'd like to think you're making a difference, those sorts of riots aren't helping our cause. To really change their minds, we need a single unified message, and that message is that killing gift-giving will kill the game; worse than anything they've done so far. This limitation obviously must be kept on newly registered accounts to prevent bots and gold farmers, but they're already gone. We the veterans should not have to suffer the collateral damage of an attack on a beast already slain! The Protest When & Where?: The protest will occur in World 48 on December 15, 2007, at 2:00 PM EST. The gravesite will be in Lumbridge. The Procedure: Unlike most disogranized mobs, we must get our message across clearly! Do not simply show up and begin shouting! Silence can be powerful; actions speak louder than words. For this protest, we are going to create a massive gravesite in Lumbridge using the newly added gravestones. To begin our event, we need three types of volunteers: Priests, Mages, and Ghosts. Skilled Task: Priest Requirements: Lv70+ Prayer As a priest, it is your job to continually bless gravestones. If you'd like, it is suggested to wear something relatively (un)holy, however, anyone with Lv70+ Prayer can bless a gravestone, so anyone with that requirement is asked to help as much as they can. You can restore your prayer at the church of Lumbridge after each blessing. Skilled Task: Mage Requirements: Lv74+ Magic If you decide to be a Mage, it is your task to offer Teleother Lumbridge spells to Ghosts. You will be stationed on Karamja, and are advised to wear something relatively magical. Ghosts will be advised to carry their own teleports, so only one or two Mages are needed. Unskilled Task: Ghost Requirements: 4 relatively worthless items of any sort, 30gp, Lumbridge Teleport As a Ghost, you will need to supply the gravestones. To do this, you must die in Lumbridge. Being a fairly safe area with no strong creatures, suicide is the solution. If you wish, dropping an explosive compund (Digsite quest), or eating a few Nightshades or half-cooked Karambwan will do the trick. However, a more efficient method of simply being poisoned by a foe will be the main cause of death. Remember, to make the gravestone appear, you must lose at least one item. Along with your 30gp boat ride to Karamja, a great source for poisonous beings, you should take with you a teleport back to Lumbridge and 4 useless items (buckets, tinderboxes, etc.). After you've prepared your inventory, head over to Karamja (or any source of poisonous beast you may prefer). Once you have been poisoned (be sure that your Hitpoints are low enough that you will die of the poison), teleport back to Lumbridge and find an empty space to die. One of the 4 items will be dropped, leaving a gravestone behind. Do not collect the item, and do not demolish your grave. Once you have died, your task is complete and you may leave. However, you must remain logged on for your grave to stay in place. If you wish to stay at the Protest, it is asked that you wear black clothing, and carry a skull/pirate banner if possible. A Priest will bless your gravestone so it will remain in place for one hour. A Unified Message As most gatherings do, I'd hope that this grabs the attention of a few Jagex Mods. Should they appear, which is our goal, they must be informed that the death of free trade cannot be allowed! However, as has been previously stated simply shouting whatever you wish will get us nowhere, and no one heard. We must have a single message! They must know that our actions are a symbol. To kill free trade is to murder those to which its soul is bound; the very essence of RuneScape, a freedom of geneorisity, must be saved. A single message, verbatim, must be recited, united. Here Lies the Spirit of Generosity, Executed for Crimes Uncommitted. *note* i was not the intitial organiser of this event, the organiser requested it got posted about, so here i am psting it about. i hope to see alot of people there

EugenyG
Now, they're trying to scam innocent players out of their accounts, and as shifty business goes, they're likely to simply take the money and run; after all, why do the work when you've already been paid? At this point, there is NO reason to continue this crusade. They've already been stopped to the fullest extent they can be stopped. Ever heard of the term "repeat customer"? The major RWT sites will actually want to not steal your account but level it for your money, since it means you'll be coming back to them for more "business". Of course there will also be small scam sites that pretend that they do that but instead steal your account, but the major sites will actually want to stay honest. Besides, why would they want your account stolen anymore? They can't use the gold because it's not tradeable, and if they resell the acc you'll probably reclaim it anyways via customer support, so there won't be many buyers of stolen accounts. So (unfortunately) I think this is even a bigger problem than you realize. The bad thing is not that they scam, it's that they WONT scam, and isntead we'll see a horde of rwt-driven powerlevellers and powerfarmers, and won't even suspect they are macros instead of honest players. Live free or die. First option is exhausted, so guess what remains?

Lielac
In January no one will be able to do unbalanced trade was the news last time I checked RS, cravey. Balance may be power, but chaos is still pretty damn fun.Canada can't be second rate, polar bears are their main mode of transportation.
cravey
In January no one will be able to do unbalanced trade was the news last time I checked RS, cravey. We are aware that many of you will want to prepare for this change. So, initially, we are just going to make the trade system WARN about unbalanced trades, but it will still allow the trade to go through. this is a quote from the jatex news post so this is you: :wall: #-o :-# :uhh: :XD:

They're allowing unbalanced trades at the moment to go through. January will see an end to that. And, it's JaGex, not Jatex. Maybe you should make this F2P. More people will come. Including me. Hoping to get a new Signature (with matching avatar) soon. :D In the meantime...Steam username: )I'll rewrite it later (add me if you want)
