"A rose is a rose is a rose." Have you ever heard someone say that before? It is a famous quote from the equally famous American Writer, Gertrude Stein. It means that, well, a rose is a rose. Nothing can change that. It is what it is.

A dragon long is a dragon long is a dragon long. Here we have the same meaning, but with a dragon long-sword. It is what it is, but there is something we can do to change that.

Runescape, being a multiplayer game, has plenty of personality. However, being a game, there lacks a certain amount of individualism because after all, a rune plate is a rune plate is a rune plate.

Where can we apply more individualism in this game? Well there is a lot of combat, so let's start there!

Customize your killing-machines!

We see people walking around with the same weapons. We all want a little something to distinguish ourselves from the rest of them, so that is why a customizable weapon option would be perfect if implemented in the game. A system in which you take a weapon, and totally redesign it to fit your personality.

With this concept, you can take one of the following kinds of weapons to the master smithy, Thurgo.

- Swords --- up to dragon

- Long swords --- up to dragon

- 2 handed swords --- up to dragon

- Battle Axes --- up to dragon

- Daggers --- up to dragon

Select your weapon. Take it to Thurgo and he will give you the option to customize your weapon. Choosing this will initiate a screen with all of your customizable options. Here is a quick example of what it would look like.

Here I have a centerpiece with what you are designing. To design you pick a shape to draw with, or the free draw tool. You must complete a design for the handle, hilt (the hand guard), and the blade. For the battle ax, which has different parts, you will need to design the handle, shaft, and ax You will then have a choice of color for each component. I was thinking a realistic steel color, almost like silver, a pale blue, a pale green, and a pale red. The reason why these colors are opaque is so they are not confused with the already existing weapons of the correlating color. (Ie: dragon weapons are already red.) Of course the actual in-game implication would be much more in depth, but you get the drift, no?

You will have a good amount of freedom in designing the components of your weapon, but there are still limitations. Certain shapes will not be possible to produce if they are too close to resembling an already existing weapon, or if they shapes created are too wild.

Once you have completed building your new weapon, Thurgo will build it for you, in exchange for your original, and a small price...

For bronze/iron weapons

- 500 gp

Steel/black weapons

- 1000 gp

Mithrill weapons

- 2000 gp

Addy weapons

- 5000 gp

Rune weapons

- 10000 gp

Dragon weapons

- 20000 gp

As far as the stats of the end result, they will be the same as the original weapon. Of course, your own customized weapon cannot be traded. It can, however be traded back. to Thurgo for the weapon that it originally was.

That̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s it! Please, share you ideas, suggestions and opinions.

Tell me if you think this needs more, or if you have any additives to improve the concept.
