Any advice on what to get? I am completely stumped. I was thinking flowers and a box of chocolates, but that seems too typical nowadays.

If you really are into it, make her a memorabilia of your past, like pictures from when you were a baby, put it together in a presentable fashion. Mom's dig that ;)
