a Very interesting barrows theory

Recommended Posts

as everyone knows, monsters in the barrows crypt do not drop anything.

however, is it not feasable that instead of monsters dropping coins/whatever, on the ground(like normal) they drop it into the chest in the center?

people have done experiments where they have killed only 1 type of ghost and no other monsters, and gotten equipment ONLY from the ghost they killed. this means that each ghost has a very low chanee of dropping a piece of their armor. it also means that the max of one type of armor you can get is one(not including karil's bolt racks, they appear to be dropped by everyone).

the reason people have been getting so many coins is that coins are the most common drop for skeles\whatever and the ghosts.

this theory suggests that kill count only matters in the sense that the more skeles/rats/spiders you kill, the more coins/runes/bolt racks(and possibly dmed helm- but that is unconfirmed) you will get.

as such, the easiest way to obtain the new barrows armor is to kill the 5 ghosts in their respective crypts first, go down to the barrows, then find the 6th and slaughter it as well. then head for the chest.

on the second day I got karils coif + leathertop in the same chest with 109 kills and all 6 gods, so I think that the other monsters have a low chance of dropping new armor too.
