dymed
Well, last night, everything with my mouse was fine. I turned it off, went to bed. Today, I just turned my computer back on. I single-clicked on Mozilla, and it started up. So I figured maybe I just double clicked real fast without noticing. So I went onto AIM, and whenever I single-clicked on someone's name on my buddy list, an IM box for them would open up. For anyone that isn't familiar with the AIM client, a single click highlights the name, a double click open up an IM box. So I tried it with the Runescape window client. A single-click opened it up. The weird thing is though, its not 100% that a single-click acts like a double-click. Sometimes, when I do it really slow and carefully, a single-click acts like a single-click (the name on the buddy list highlights, Mozilla icon highlights, etc.) Even with text, sometimes a single-click just puts my cursor in the middle of the word, but most of the time a single-click highlights the word. Figuring that somehow my mouse preferences had been messed up, I go to them. However, they are the same as they have always been. I put the double-click option to the slowest, just to check it out. Nothing changed though. I haven't downloaded any programs or even files for that matter for the last week or so at least. I am positive that no one has been on this computer since I logged off last night. Apparently, the mouse options haven't made a difference... Anyone know what's wrong? I'll post an HJT log if needed, but I don't think it's any type of spyware. This is getting REALLY annoying now. Thanks for any help.

jlee
That happened with a couple mice I had.. I think the button itself might be broken... not sure if it's fixable.. I just got it replaced because it was still under warranty (this was one of those Microsoft Intellimouse Explorers)
