Why is everyone's focusing on Jersualem?

Jeruselam is so important because it is a holy city for Jews, Muslims and Christians. This makes it a vitally important city for all groups involved in the conflict.

He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart,

and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God.

I felt like a broken record on the other thread, so I won't repeat myself too much here. All i'll say is, whilst I support the state of Israel's right to exist, the occupation of Palestine is an unjustifiable subjugation of another people, and just another example of colonialism.

The Palestinians had a chance, long ago, to live wherever the hell they wanted. To enjoy the same freedoms Israelis did. Free movement around the nation whenever they wanted.

What spoiled that? Greed of corrupt Ex-Palestinian officials who didn't profit from the government changing hands. Using radical extremism as a TOOL in order to kill innocents.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the "Israeli Occupation" was not automatic, nor was it desired by Israel. It was brought on.

Calling Israel an "Imperialist" power is not very fair, considering that all the land they have gained over 60 years has only been from defensive wars.

If those corrupt bureaucrats hadn't been stupid back in 1947, there would be no Palestinian zones, there wouldn't even be need for a separate Palestinian state.

So quote errant IDF shells or raids all you want. You are blaming 60 years of history on events that happened yesterday.

Palestinian leadership has had multiple chances for peace.

And Ginger, I think Israel's justification of land is that they were there for 12,000 years until the Byzantines slaughtered them and led to the Diaspora. You might claim that Palestinians have a "squatter's claim" of four hundred years, but I'd say that 10,000+ beats 400 any day. Of course, I am opening myself up to "Americans vs Indians" stuff, so let's also just throw out that Israel owns the land just as much as the US owned it's land. I am Native American myself, and I realize how the Palestinians must feel, but unlike America the Palestinians had a chance at cohabitation.

And I still don't get how if an errant IDF shell kills 30 people, it's totally justified for trained rocket attacks to kill 300 people.

Initial statement: I would be opposed to this treatment of the Palestinians if it were taking place on some remote island with no geopolitical importance, it's a matter of principle.

Now, onto your post. If you read the writings of some of the early Zionist leaders (Herzl, Nordau) you'll see that they had the forsight to realise that a conflict with the Palestinians was unavoidable. Unfortunately, this was only forsight because Zionism is based on the lie that a people without a land needs a land without a people.

To this day Israeli law allows anybody to be evicted from their land without notice simply because he is not a Jew. The justification? God awarded this one tribe the land many thousands of years ago. Who said faith ever helped the situation? Besides all that, international law explicitly forbids interference with the demography and ownership of territories occupied in wartime.

Heck, even if Palestine was completely unoccupied i'd still say the Jews have no business seeking Biblical ghettoes. Those who encourage this are only deluding the Jews and oppressing the Arabs. Especially in respect to making Jews "safer" by building them homes on stolen land.

I didn't know you could "steal" land in a time of war. Thats a new one for the War Books. "You can't steal land, only kill massive populations and gather resources". Right..

Zionism is based on the lie that a people without a land needs a land without a people.

A complete and utter fact its a lie huh? Sources please.

I have never heard of this ... ever. Sources please. Also, I have sources that its the Arabs doing "ethic cleansing" in their areas of Jews. So someone is lieing here.. its either the Arabs or Jews.

Tell that to Hilter, he did not really give a dam. I don't see people evening mention more important issues like Genocide in Sudan, but no, its "poor Palestines".

Give me a break. You say that its not the governments fault, yet its okay for him to order the terrorists to attack Isreal. That is the SAME thing.

If Isreal wanted to, they could march right in their with their armies and wipe Gaza OUT.

Look at America, 151,000 Civilian Casualties since Iraq war, compare that to Isreal.
