Before you read this plz take a look at the replies in this post:http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=734114

In before the lock!

I have seen this more and more often. This is because of new forum users trying to get a free post to their post count. The question comes up...

what good does it to have threads like this locked. I understand some that have semi meaning but useless junk?

Threads in wrong area or not on a stick for example should be locked because the person who posted would need to see the reply.

Basically... We need to delete spam not lock it.

Sorry if rambling.

This is a better look at it:

While this may be more work for mods: why not clean a thread out before locking it? :-s

As in why don't we do both? Or why not clean a thread instead of locking it?

Sorry, I was really tired when i wrote that.

What i mean is:

If a thread needs to be locked take out all useless post. IN before lock ect.

leaving only post that give a url to correct thread or forum.

Why: While post counts are not a big deal spam is! The reason there are so many spam post is that it has become a trend. BY erasing the spam you will erase the trend. While would someone post a in before lock post if they knows it's just going to be deleted? They won't! Delete the Spam = Delete the trend

Cons: more work for you guys. <.<

A few annoyed posters

This actually understandable?
