The United States - What Has Become of It?

Featured Replies

What's scary is that the CSA would probably do better now than the United States would :P.

The problem with the US is that we can't decide if we are a democracy or a republic. The two are constantly fighting each other.

We also let terrorists win. When we can't show Allah's image on Comedy Central, they won.

I'm fed up of people saying all Muslims are terrorists, some of my close friends are Muslim and not one of them has ever contemplated terrorism,

To Muslims any picture of Allah or the Prophet Mohammad, is offensive,

I'm not sure if this fact is true, but I read in a newspaper that if the U.S. had kept going the way Clinton was, economically, it would be out of debt by 2009.

It's not. The economy really has little to do with what President is in charge, and aside from "booster shots" you can't just make the economy spin on a dime.

We had a 9 trillion dollar debt with Bill, having a few billion in surplus every year is not going to change that. You don't save surpluses, you use them. Especially in Bill's money-hungry government.

If we really wanted to cut back on government spending, we'd reduce government. There are thousands of unneeded jobs in Washington alone, each worth about 50-70 thousand annually. Clinton was guilty of it, Bush was, too.

As for the economy, it is perking back up a bit. It always dips up and down, God help the fool who is in charge when it does, though.

And the FCC decided all by itself that radio and television are the only two parts of American culture not protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution.. I'd like to repeat that cause it sounds vaguely important.. The FCC, an appointed group, answerable only to the President decided that radio and television aren't protected by the First Amendment.. Why did they decide this? Cause they got a letter from a minister in Mississippi! A reverend Donald Wildman heard something on the radio he didn't like.. Well Reverend, did anyone ever tell you there are two KNOBS on the radio? One of them turns the volume down and the other one... CHANGES THE STATION! Imagine that, you can actually change the station! It's called freedom of a choice, and it's one of the provisions this country was founded upon, look it up in the library Reverend, if you have any of them left when you finish burning all the books..

keep doing that and every group is going to get it's way. maybe they can be tolerant themselves of our rights and go read a book while shows that depict those 2 characters for 30 minutes.

about America in itself:

i don't like people who have the "if you don't like it leave" attitude towards people who criticize America. their typical argument is "you don't appreciate what you have spouting statements like that...go live in Africa then we'll see how bad America is"

where is the logic in this? all we're trying to do is make Ameria BETTER! the fact is we love America, and because of our love for it, we want to better it in every way possible. if you can't take criticism then maybe you should just not listen to me and take advantage of your own rights in doing so.

No, the muslims won.

Not every muslim is a terrorist, you might be surprised to hear.

Why offend millions of good people just to provoke a few terrorists into more bombings?

Seems pretty stupid to me tbh.

No. Terrorists won. Comedy Central is afraid to show Allah because it might get attacked by terrorists the same way that comic was in Europe. Terrorists have now controlled what we can or can't show on TV.

Where did I say all muslims are terrorists? Again, Comedy Central doesn't show the image of Allah because terrorists threaten CC, not muslims.

I'm all for respecting people's beliefs, but this is America, and we should be able to make fun of every religion equally. No exceptions. South Park can make all kinds of fun about Jesus but can't show Allah's image? Where do you draw the line of which religions can't be made fun of? Right now we've been letting terrorists do that. That is their goal.
