February 24, 200818 yr People are desperate to find "meaning" to anything  Does a chimpanzee have a meaning? A fox? A bear? A fish? Just don't forget humans are animals like those mentioned above... Only with higher mental capacities. That's debatable. Barely, if at all. The point is, those animals very likely live on pure insticts. They have enough on their plate thinking about survival. When humans have enough food, shelter, protection.. They can start thinking about abstract things, create art, think of new ideas and creations etc. Just because we 'think' we should have a meaning, doesn't mean we really are any more meaningful than any animal mentioned above. We're at the top of the food chain, but so are a lot of other animals as well, such as lions. Do lions' lives have an explicit meaning? Other than eating other living organisms & animals, mating, sleeping, working (hunting) then dying. Compare that to the average human's life, add activities that require brain activity (due to higher mental capacity) and you'll be surprised how similar humans are to other animals.
