Too much of ANYTHING will kill you. In a lot of cases it has to be in an absolute extreme which vitrually no one will ever accomplish - such as keeping coke in your mouth non stop for 12 hours (though of course that 'experiment' was obviously done with a dead tooth, again rendering it less credible).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But I'll tell you this and it's 110% true: an awful lot more people die from drinking too much water than those who manage to dissolve a tooth with coke.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Example: lots have died from accidentally ingesting poisonous stuff then drinking far far too much water in an attempt to dilute it.

If you hate the pledge so much THEN DONT SAY IT, and dont stand, and lay your head down and cover your ears and hum to yourself when we have the CHOICE to say it each morning at school. It is said each day to remind you that you wouldn't be where you are today, (probably in a home, with parents that love you, and a school that gives you a good education, and much more) without the blood, sweat, tears, and thousands of lives spent during the numerous wars fought to keep America independent from outside rule. I dare you to say the pledge one morning, and actually pay attention to the numerous words recited throughout it...especially "Liberty, and justice for all" and while it may seem like just a droning pledge, actually think and ponder about what you are saying...and what was given up so that YOU could stand and say it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The pledge has real meaning to me, but I guess I'm one of the few that actually pays attention to the words. Its sad to see half of my first period class not even stand up during the pledge :( But...its a person's choice, and America wouldn't be America without it.

So what if I (I can do it without bold!) rhetorted? I was unaware this was a 2 person discussion. I still have honestly no idea what you're getting at anyway? Why is it that I can't read? Do I have to break everything down to you? You were the one who bolded the words he and you obviously pointing out the difference, and I was pointing out the fact that you jumped right in putting yourself in line with him, and are therefore supporting what he says. You were arguing a point in his favor that didn't make sense to what was already said. Does that make more sense?

A pledge of allegiance (wether it be to a person or a nation, though the first option was more common in distant history though) means whatever you do, your master is always the first priority in all of your decisions and you will fight to death protecting it/him. In this case it would be a nation, America. I could safely estimate that 99% of people who say aloud the american p.o.a. have no idea what it stands for.
