cooking in lumby after rfd

Recommended Posts

i recently started power cooking monkfish and have found that i started not burning monkfish at level 87 wearing cooking gauntlets and using the lumbridge cooking range. since i have access to the bank from recipe for disaster the bank is very close by. i started out at rogues den at level 78ish for the quick acces to that bank and use of the fire, but was in lumby at 85 and decided to give it a try and burnt an accepteable(to me) 3 out of every 100.

the best way to get from bank to range and start cooking is to use either the East, South-East or South side of the ladder and have the inventory window open

i have tried sharks at each level up and at level 90(which i just achieved) i burnt zero my first 2 loads and three on my 3rd load.

As much as I'd like to add this data to the guide, reports on monkfish with gauntlets have varied from 88 to 90. I guess there are just too few people who get this high and have time to notice, lol.

From what I understand about sharks, people still burn them at 99. I've heard that you burn none when using the cape to boost to 100, but I've not received enough solid data on that either.

I'll leave this thread open for a bit, and if we can get responses from some people who actually have the levels (not "from a friend"), we can look at adding info to the guide.

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.

i think he is talking about the range of the cook that it decreases burning

This topic comes back and back:

Jagex stated clearly (in several replies to questions on their forums) that the cooking gauntlets only work for 3 types of fish: sharks, lobsters and swordfish. (They clearly said: NO MONKFISH!; NOT any OTHER type of fish!)

I can also remember a reply from Jagex about questions regarding the range in Lumbridge castle:

the gist of the answer follows: The range in lumbridge castle burn less cakes, pies and other complicated dishes.

It will NOT help you in burning less fish.

No proof or pics. But I clearly remember being very interested in this topic several years ago and being disappointed when I read the answer on this question that somebody else had asked.

And yes when I cook sharks without gauntlets at 99 cook I still burn some.

People even report that you can still burn monks (very rarely) at 99 cook.

2100+ total 3rd best skiller ever at 99 combat (maybe the best, highest total below 100 cb)

99 Cook 99 Fletch 99 Woodcut 99 Firemaking 99 Range 99 Mage 99 Thief 99 Fish 99 Agility 99 Mining 99 Runecrafting 99 Hp 99 Slayer 99 Smith 99 Hunt 99 Construction 99 Craft 99 Farming
