Looking into getting a new computer.

I've found one that looks like a "bargain", as it is advertised and I'm not quite sure about it.

All this for just over 900$ Cad. I've heard its much cheaper to buy the pieces seperatly but I'm afraid I'd break something during the assembly.

The problem with the gene pool is that there's no lifeguard.

I don't know how much $900 CAD is compared to the SGD, but it's not a good computer if you're going to use it for gaming etc.

1. It has PCI slots, not AGP, nor PCI-E

2. The default video "Card" is not a card, it's integrated graphics, which are.. rubbish.

I dunno, is CAD similar to the USD? I need to check up exchange rates more often.

Did some converting, 900 CAD is 1,182 SGD.

Not too bad, we get similar spec computers here from DELL at around $999 SGD.(I think it's the Dual Layer DVD Burner is costing you)

But I woudl still suggest building, you can get someone who knows computers to do it for you.

Known formerly as Ameoba3000.

Now known as Vigoss.

For the record, the computer in question does indeed seem to have both PCI and PCI-E ports.

I wouldn't buy it. There's no way near enough info about it to know if it's worth the money or not.

@ Pyro: Building as I thought would be the best option. I've got some friends who are into computers however they won't be back till next saturday.

http://www.mysterybyte.com - Best computer shop in town. I suggest going in there and talking to those guys about your build.

http://intencity.ca/ - Where two of my friends bought their PCs from. They might be a little expensive, but the people that work there are really nice. I'd go to mysterybyte first, and if you don't find anythign there, try this place.

http://robotnik.com/home.php - In bayers lake. The stuff they sell is a little old, but you could still consult them if you don't find anything anywhere else.

Mysterybyte would be my first choice, and I'd recomend going in person. They may even cut you a little deal if you go in and haggle with them

The good thing with buying locally is that if something breaks, it's a lot easier to fix than sending it back somewhere for a few weeks/months.
