New Mining Animation = Slower Rune Ess?

Just wondering if this is true or its in my head.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It seems like I can only mine 3 rune ess per animation, and no mining happens during the downtime.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have a rune pick and 62 mine, it should go faster then this...

There has been no change. The old animation got you an essence every three hits (Rune Pickaxe). The new animation did it a little more eradically, but the timing was still the same. The animation has nothing to do with the timing of the essence because that is a fixed time. All it means is that in the effort to create realism, the hits on the rock may not perfectly line up with the swings of your axe.
