If I said you could roll a 6-sided die one every second, or flip a coin once every minute, with a reward every time the coin came up heads or the die came up 6, which would you choose? Statistically, it's better to go with the die, because the extra tries add up to more of the desired result per minute than the coin. Similarly, if you're looking for the talon beast event, you want to just power through the other ones as quickly as you can. On the medium and hard paths, events can take quite a while to finish.
