You need to do 5 tasks before you earn points.

Yqw, I haven't done the quest yet, to lazy to do the cat quest, no not gertrudes cat.

I should clarify, its five tasks in a row before you start earning points. If you go to burthrope to get a new task, the counter resets.

And these 5 tasks are NOT to be assigned from the burthorpe master.

 

 

 

For fast points, do 9 times Machzna (Canifis master), for the 10th task skip to the highest master available since the 10th task gives 5x the points as a bonus. Then do 9 times Mazchna, cashing in the bonus on a difficult slayer master etc.

 

 

 

I did this to get the slayer helmet as fast as possible, now I'm just slaying with Duradel to get more points every task....
