To Buy these Computers? Must respond today

Featured Replies

Alright. I was going to build a new computer but then these beauties came up on costco.com. However I'm on vacation and don't really have time to look all over them. Here are my questions in order from most important to least...

1) Should I buy: (Which ones or at all?)

Both are practically the same thing except for hard drive caches and OS'. Is the $20 worth it

2) Is vista professional or home premium better? (I'll use linux for w/e I can.)

3) What would be a good low/medium range graphics card? I don't want to spend over $60, and yes I know it won't get you a whole lot...

4) What would a good 20 or lower inch flatscreen monitor be?

5) Can you put linux and windows on the same machine?

6) Which type of linux is best

And on a total unrelated note what programming languages can IRC scripts be written in? Reply fast!

Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again

1. Don't care which one you buy.

2. Professional is for a business or at least that is what they designed it for. Home premium is for home.

5. Yes you would just use a boot loader which comes with linux on the install ISO. Most distros use GRUB. You can also run several distros and windows under a boot loader.

6. I personally like to run Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSUSE.
