im1knight Posted August 2, 2008 Share Posted August 2, 2008 when my mom start up his computer today, she got this error message: Unmountable Boot Volume 0x000000ED( 0x82DC8900,0xc0000006,0x00000000,0x00000000) and she can't go into windows by safe mode or normal She told me when she is trying to turn off the computer yesterday, after windows logged off, and screen went black, but the power light is still on, after 10 mins nothing happened, so she unplugged the power from the computer....and now..this thing happened. what should i do to fix this? do i need to reinstall windows? is there anyways that i can get the files out of there since there are a lot of important ones.... ty Quit runescape on Jan 6th of 2008, at level of 115 with around 150M worth of item in bank...however stats still remainsWorld 59, the world i loved~ Now 95% dedicated to playing Microsoft flight simulator http://www.youtube.com/user/im1knightmy youtube channel with many FSX videos i made. please leave a comment if you will Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
sloter Posted August 3, 2008 Share Posted August 3, 2008 There is corrupted sectors or something else happened to make the OS not boot right. NEVER unplug the power! Try putting your windows XP disc in and repair the OS if that doesn't work i am afraid to say you are looking at reinstalling the OS. I have had this happen on one of my computers before i just reinstall the OS as it in my case is the fastest way. Clare might have some good input on this.
