P2P and runescape (P2P = peer 2 peer ) need help

Featured Replies

Hi

I hope someone here can help me, i have this problem that my Internet provider does not allow peer 2 peer

and i do not use any peer 2 peer programs.

The mane reason i have the Internet is to play runescape and get e-mail but here is the problem my Internet provider picks up peer 2 peer activity on my connection and the only program running is runescape.

Now what i would like to know is does runescape use peer 2 peer in any way ex. For updating the game

and if not is there any program i can run to stop peer 2 peer on my Pc.

I would appreciate any help in regards to my problems.

Ps. the problem is not every time i play runescape and i have spoken to my Isp. And thy tracked to problem to a runescape ip address.

IF you have a router or switch or something someone else could be on your connection doing P2P.

no, runescape does not use any of that. Depending on the country you live in, in both most of Europe and the US it is illegal for ISP's to monitor your connection, so while they may warn you not to do it you can just threaten to sue them and they can do nothing about it. If by your location you mean Capetown South Africa, however you will need to check your local laws as I don't know much about laws in Africa.
