The timing window is exactly the same as Guitar hero 3, HOWEVER as said above there is a "window" that stops you having the button held down 5 minutes before the note appears unlike GH3.

 

 

 

And as this game is effectively Guitar Hero 3 but with a different set of songs discussion for it should be kept there (viewtopic.php?f=151&t=661153)
