September 3, 200817 yr Hey people ;) OK, so I just set up KVM cables so I can now use two computers with one monitor/keyboard/mouse. I have Windows on my new PC, and just installed Linux Ubuntu onto the old one. All goes well apart from the fact the screen shifts a bit to the left. I can set the screen to Auto fix it, or do it manually. But then as soon as I press the button to go to the other PC, the screen has shifed the right :D Just wandering if anyone here might know a solution to it? I could go on a in-depth Google hunt, but I like this community and if anyone is able to help then I just saved myself opening a new tab! :P Stephen Hawking is now a honorary member of the Runecrafting Guild. September 5, 200817 yr May I suggest re-tuning the video card output on both systems? :-s (All I can think of right now, sorry. It just sounds to me like you're not going to win the fight with that KVM any other way. :( ...) ~D. V. September 5, 200817 yr Author Yeah I also think this is a lost cause after trying your method and others... However I did manage to find a compromise so that it isn't so noticeable or problematic though   I set one computer monitor display to be a few pixels out of centre, so that it makes it only a few pixels out on the other comp... I probably didn't explain that so well, but yeah :P Thanks for trying to help Devnull ;) Stephen Hawking is now a honorary member of the Runecrafting Guild. September 5, 200817 yr It's more likely to do with video cards outputting different analogue signals. Even if you output 60Hz 1024x768 on various systems you will find they all give different results. This is why all of the newer monitors have an auto sync function. With old CRTs you would have to alter the screens dimensions individually. It's kewl you have found a compromise though :) [Assist-X]

BTW, I understood what you said perfectly. : (I'm so glad I developed a 3-D mind. :) ...) It's more likely to do with video cards outputting different analogue signals. Thank you for the cool heads-up, Clare. ~D. V. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people...
