Trade_With
The right hinge on my laptop has been dodgy for a while. If I opened it too fast, or not carefully, the screen would sort of flicker with a red tint. Well, this morning I woke up and opened my laptop to see it was doing the exact same, but now I can't get rid of it. White displays with a sort of red/pink tint on it, making it quite hard to read; i've had to ctrl + a some pages to be able to read it without hurting my eyes. Seems it could be a wire that's been loose for a while that's decided to be awkward and come undone. Is there anyway to fix this without paying a large amount of money, or should I just hand it into Pc World and hope they don't charge too much? If that being the case, any idea on prices? Note: I can provide a picture if it's really needed. Cheers in advance. @Trade_With
Deathmath
Wewt, it's wizard :P It's probably a loose wire... Look for a guide on disassembly, and look for anything wrong. If you can't find that out hand it to a professional. Can you provide a picture of the computer itself and the screen? ~Deathmath Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again

The problem with opening it is I don't want to break the thing even further, unless I know exactly what needs done. The hinge itself isn't that bad to look it - it was actually the left hand hinge that became really loose - making the right hand side kind of stretch upwards. So i'm guessing the wires which provide power to the screen run in the left hand hinge and the ones for display are in the right. So as they've been kind of stretched, compensating for the other side, they've broken or came loose. Left hinge (It used to be broken and raised up like it is in the picture, but I got so pissed this morning with the pink tint that I hacked the bit making it raised up off. It was only some metal square, nothing that could cause the pink tint.) [hide=][/hide] It was making the right hinge go up like this: [hide=][/hide] Hope this is making sense :P EDIT: Ok, it's definitely a loose wire. I kind of knocked the screen a bit and now it's back to normal. Don't know how long it will last though, I don't want to move too much :P @Trade_With
Deathmath
Ooh, it's a loose wire. It shouldn't cost much to have somebody fix :ohnoes: , but I might unscrew it and see. Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again
