September 15, 200817 yr I've collected about 8000 casts for fire bolt which I will be using with chaos gauntlets. My magic level is currently 91 and I will have maxxed magic attack bonus excluding the third age magic amulet and barrows gloves. I would like to know how much magic exp I am likely to get from these 8000 casts as well as the loss per cast/per 1k casts and if anybody knows, how many casts it will probably take me to kill each iron/steel dragon. Also, would it be better for me to mage iron dragons or steel dragons (please give reasons). I know that I will probably lose alot more money than if meleeing/ranging the dragons but I have the runes available and I would like to use them. Thank you for any help you are able to give me.
September 15, 200817 yr At my level 71 magic i can finish a Steel Dragon in about 80 Fire bolts and a Iron Dragon in like 60 [Estimated]. 80 fire bolts = ~8000 gp [Chaos] + 3200 [Fire runes OR Air runes] = 11k gp/ Steel Dragon 60 fire bolts = 6000+2400...etc .. = ~8.5k / Iron Dragon If you bank each and every bone, then come back (Considering that you only get bones) - You will be losing 9k/steel; 6.5k/iron So if you are getting a Dragon Skirt(~150k) every 17 Steel Dragons (Which you won't), every 25 Iron Dragons OR Dragon Platelegs (~600k) every 68 Steel / 100 irons and NO OTHER DROPS, you are losing nothing. You won't be losing a lot of money, but unless you are lucky, you WILL lose like 2k/ Dragon And it would take you like 65 Casts /steel and 45-50 / Iron
September 15, 200817 yr if you take nats and alch most rune drops it's not too bad, you will usually get a clue as well which may, or more likely not be decent money too

September 15, 200817 yr oh, i'd mage the steels, as much as there is a chance of dragon drops from irons, the other drops are mainly quite rubbish, addy things instead of runes, and less charms per kill, 2 instead of 3
