Advise for Construction Plans?

Featured Replies

Alrighty, first of all, if you guys would like to see my house, the code for it is on the Rune HQ HousePlanner and the code is:

TENDMVTOFDRUTTGDUVTXHUASEETUEREJUEMVUMEEQQUQDEUWUVIkUOVEPFMUVMMFQMVQIlQKVUJlUJGMXXNLXQRXVL

My Construction level atm is 79  . If this changes, just look at me siggy and you'll see. You'll see that I've used all 30 rooms. That's my current plan for me house (look at the dungeon). What I'm thinking of changing is the lay out of my basement, the portal room obstructing the dungeon as it was build a good 31 levels ago. Here are the dungeon statistics as of what it will be at level 96 (easier to understand once you look at my plans):

Max number of rooms to survive: 10 rooms

Number of rooms to obtain treasure: 10 rooms

Min number of rooms to survive: 6 rooms

Now, deciding upon this had already taken what, 5 days of strained thought and another construction dedicated pal. Now, my mind always hesitant and unsure, has thought of a new, perhaps better plan. Here's the code (No first or ground floor here):

CEWDEUEETEJUEMVERUEUWFMUFQMGNXGQQ

Note that the stairs to the west will not have any stairs to escape from the dungeon, it'll simply be a rug and a dead end. Statistics? Here they are:

Max number of rooms to survive: 12 rooms

Number of rooms to obtain treasure: 8 rooms

Min number of rooms to survive: 4 rooms

Now you can see with this method, the max number has gone up, but both the minimum number of rooms and treasure rooms decreasing, and with the min number already at a low number in the previous layout, this gives players an even easier way to escape. But but but! If the player makes a mistake, they have a lesser chance of surviving. But this is counting on the fact that the player will head towards the west. Chancy, but possible.

Conclusion? The method will cost the removal of a portal room (all portals full with no marble) which is a bit over 200k. Definitely affordable, considering the many many times I've removed both the cage and fire pit in the Oubliette when only meaning to remove the cage! :P

I'd love for you guys to give me your thoughts on this, and I'm looking forward to constructive criticism and not a "N00b! C0n5truc71On 1z Fr00by Ch00by!". Any suggestions will be welcomed, especially coming from a more experienced constructor than I (skillcapes anyone?). You can share your house plans with me too, I'll be happy to see how you built your house!

Hello, I'm currently construction level 72 and I would like to show you my house!

Here is my house plan on RuneHQ's House Planner:

SQFSXESbITMJjMJTSGjTLDUVTURTbPUNKkNLEQTUQSkRIEVVUUREYWUYDVMMlMMVSHlTLFUUVURVZOWQQGVXWWNWaQ

Ground Floor: I like this floor very much and already built all rooms of it. \'

First Floor: This is my combat place, with 3 combat rooms (and 2nd bedroom). I already built one combat ring room and one ranging pedestals room, the last one will be the balancing beam (or something)

Dungeon: Well, because the rest of my house is so big, there aren't much rooms left for this place. I am probably going to change the plan (I only built de oubliette atm, because of the rooms limit. ). The dungeon will also have an entrance in my garden.

I try to get my portal rooms and alter as close to the door as possible for practical use - I don't train construction for any other reason. Maybe you should plan the same in case one day you really want to train Prayer or something... just a thought, you don't want to get to 99 construction and awesome house and then realise it's not practical do you?

Thanks to Quarra for the awesome sig!

I made a new house design in which I removed all useless rooms and placed the first floor in the dungeon. In this way my mounted glory will be closer and my dungeon will be a lot bigger.

Here is the new code:

CQVSQFCXUSXECbUSbICfVDQUTSGDUITURDYLTbPDdXEQTUQSEVLUUDEYJUYMEfKFQVVSHFUWVURFaLVZOWQQWWNWaQ

Note that there is no connection between the oubliette and one combat room.

Shortest way to treasure: 6 rooms (excl treasure room)

Number of dungeon rooms (oubl., corr., junc., stairs, treasure): 9 rooms
