There is a safe spot to range Glod from, but you'll have to maintain constant attention because you'll run up to him if he forces you to, and you'll run away if he forces you to. Otherwise he won't be able to hit you, with the exception of his "stomp" attack that has a range from about where Glod is standing to the spot where that skeleton beside the rock is, so you'll have to stand further than that.
