At ape atoll, I get 240 xp per grey chin with Void.

I get a little over half that at Mummies, so probably around 140 XP at zombies.

At your range level, without void, you will be getting about 30% less XP, so you would get roughly:

168 XP\chin at Ape Atoll

93 XP\chin at Zombies

1,272,526 XP from 80 - 85 range.

7574 chins at Ape Atoll.

13,683 chins at Zombies.

You can get around 1k chins \ hour at Ape Atoll, around 800 at mummies\zombies.

So 7574 chins + ~7.5 hours at Ape Atoll

13,683 chins + ~17 hours at Zombies.

Costwise:

7574 chins = 3,006,878 GP

13,683 chins = 5,432,151 GP

Final:

Ape Atoll = 3m and 7.5 hours

Zombies = 5.4m and 17 hours

Hope this answers your question, feel free to respond with any questions :)

I don't have exact numbers with red chins; the XP should be about 40 higher, though, so you would have to earn several million per hour to make them worthwhile. I won't go through the whole numbers, as I don't have exact numbers for Grey chins, and my calcs could be off quite a bit. Suffice to say that it probably isn't worth it for you, especially at your level.

Keep in mind that, although I'm not trying to tell you where to chin, Ape Atoll Skeles really are the way to go; the small amount of drops you might get from zombies or mummies really doesn't outweigh the extra cost and time.

Sorry to post in your thread maul, but was just wondering:

Comp said : "without void, you will be getting about 30% less XP"

So Void is better at zombie monkeys, regardless of levels and setup? Just wondering.

No. At higher levels it is more efficient because higher range means that you can hit more frequently, stand alone. Accuracy is what cripples void. So at higher levels, you don't really need the extra benefits of more accuracy, as you would be hitting hard regardless.

Sorry Maul, I know it did not really answer your question.

No, I'm saying that because of his lower levels and the fact that he's lacking void, he will be getting 30% less XP. The void itself is only 5-10% more XP, and I would say it's better over all levels - I really haven't noticed much of a decrease in accuracy, and my XP went up quite significantly at 95 range.

Just stopping in with my results: I used 1000 grey chins, praying hawk eye at ape atoll. I received approximately 130k xp, 85 ranged. This was my first time, so a fair amount of the time I was focusing on unoptimized numbers of monkeys. I did use Void.

That gives me 130xp/grey chinchompa, but I'm confidant that I could get much more with experience.

Can you explain me how you get 240 xp per grey chin, when I get 235 xp per red chin? I used full void, 10% ranged prayer, geyser titan, and I know what I'm doing (how to get enough monkies around you etc...). I used 1314 chins per hour on average. (168.5 minutes of testing). Used short fuse.

edit: 93 ranged

At tryto: I got 176 xp per grey chin in a previous test. However, that was starting from the beginning of a trip, and using a tortoise in stead of geyser titan. (and not much experience yet).

Greys are only about 40 less then reds, in my testing. I use 15% range, and pot every 4 minutes, I find that's more efficient then letting my level drop to almost normal. I use short fuse too, but I was assuming 1k chins per hour - I haven't specifically tested that, getting more then that would make numbers better for chins.

Still, I dont get how you get 65xp more than me.

Havent retested greys yet though...

Try greys again. Use +15% range, potting every 5 levels (3 if you want to compare to my level), and starting XP after setups - the total XP per trip will very depending on length; the best way to do it is without setup, so that setup XP reduction can be later calculated and used to determine the effects on overall XP for various trip lengths.

Will do.

How I did my (extensive) calculations for Red chins was by just looking at xp every 15 min. You can see that the first 15 min are slow, but after that the xp is pretty consistent. You can then pick out a "good" hour. (like from minute 30 to minute 90). Srangely enough, the average xp/h for the whole trip wast very different from the xp I got during my "best" hour (I think it was 309k compared to 320k).

  • 3 weeks later...

Sorry for the bump, but I finally went to test grey chins again:

I got these resulats (137.1 min trip, 95 ranged, void, 15% prayer, tortoise for first hour, geyser for the next 69 min, 6 ranged pots, potting whenever I get back to 102-103 ranged, short fuse).

Xp/h: 260k (less in the beginning, up to 280 at the end).

Chins/h: 1312

Restores/h:14

Range ptos/h:2.6

Xp/chin:199.79

Costs/h:577750

Gp/xp:2.204

So comp, what the hell are you doing to get 40 xp more per chin than me. I think I can safely say I've pretty much maximised the xp (well, 280k an hour that is, Ive been timing every 15 min, and 71k is the best I've gotten for 15 min). You say you are using only 1000 chins, which is like 1/4 less than me, so I gues you take more time to garantuee you are hitting 9 at once, but even then...

Edit: for you greys are only 40 xp less than reds, for me it is 55 xp. I'd expect it to be around the same since you use your own method 2 tiems (only 1000 chins/h), while I use mine (1300/h).
