October 28, 200817 yr Well I don't know exactly why I decided to start playing again but I am now so now I'm sucked back into it. I'll try to get an image up of everything once I get my photobucket account back but in short, I guess I'd consider myself a noob again in a way. Last set recovery question: January 3, 2001...It's been a while. And the 3-d blew my mind...and all the new items/quests/everything blew my mind too. I re-upped on my membership and decided to start again but alas there lies my problem. With this "new" Runescape, I don't exactly know what to do or where to start. I figured I'd start by trying to make some money and getting some decent equipment back only to find my bank was empty and I have nothing...All of my beautiful coal certs  I'm an average kind of stat person with nothing blowing anything away. Was a typical type of casual player. 53 Attack 51 Life 51 Strength 49 Defense 29 Prayer 34 Magic 10 Range 53 Mining 42 Smithing 30 Fishing 44 Cooking 26 Firemaking 36 Woodcutting 32 Crafting 35 Thieving 18 Herblore 20 Agility 17 Fletching 3 Runecrafting 9 Hunter 9 Slayer 1 Construction 1 Farming 4 Summoning I managed to raise some of the stats that are new to me from, wouldn't you know, rewards I can get from visiting Varrock museum...gee all this new stuff could of come in handy 7 years ago :D Basically, my question is how should I really get myself going again? What's the best way in this Runescape to make money and/or obtaining decent equipment? Or should I focus on raising certain skills first/completing quests? I don't think I'm being very efficient right now punching the crap out of paladins.
October 28, 200817 yr Welcome back to RS, first of all! Funny, isn't it, how no matter the length of the break, you always end up coming back to the game... I'm not the best one to give advice on how to make millions of gold in the game, as that isn't my first concern when I play. But I can tell you that it is very easy to get distracted in the game. When you're a returning player, especially after a break as long as yours, I'm sure it's a bit overwhelming with the updates in front of you. I know most people have a tendency to be all star-struck, "Ooo, look at this!" and "Ooo, something shiny over here!" and sooner or later, when you had just intended to work on Mining for a while, you're deep in the bowels of some cave, doing some quest you never intended on starting. I would personally suggest doing a quest or two -- my approach is to tackle all of the Easy quests, move on to doing all the Medium ones, etc. etc. This might help you get back into the game more, instead of hopelessly wandering around the world. Beating up honorable Paladins is always good though... Feel free to add me in-game if you have any questions or need advice. I'll do my best to help you out! RSN: Serpent_Eye (And my deepest sympathies... R.I.P. Coal Certs. :( )
