Princess Viola
Official Quest Summary: A cult known as "The Derias" is attempting to summon the ancient God Dzia. Can you stop them? Quest Requirements: Merlin's Crystal, Stronghold of Player Safety Miniquest Level Requirements: 29 Crafting, 65 Woodcutting Item Requirements: 2 Gold bars, Uncut ruby, Axe (Any kind, but Rune+ recommended), spade, saw, armour and weapons, high healing food, the ability to defeat a level 400 monster Walkthrough ~~~~~~~~ To start the quest, talk to the "Worried Person" in Catherby, near the bank. When you talk to him, he'll say that he's heard that The Derias are back and are trying to summon Dzia. Curious, you ask him who is Dzia. He tells you to go talk to Merlin. When you ask Merlin about Dzia, he seems surprised, but, never the less, explains that before Guthix came to Gielinor, Dzia was the main God in the world, it is believed that 95% of the population worshipped him. But, the other 5% of the population kept Dzia's power in check with the Staff of Arez, which had the power of the God Arez in it. He'll then tell you that he doesn't know much more and tells you to ask Prof. Henry. Henry will be delighted to have someone to tell about the Staff. He explains that in his younger years, he was an archaeologist and found a map with the locations of the headpiece to the staff, the gem in the centre, and the trees used to make the stick thingymabob of the staff. Unfortunately, the map is in a language so ancient, the highest scholars and scientists only know 16 words, except Henry, he knows 20 words. You then suggest to copy the map on to something transparent and then put it over a transparent map of the modern world. You and Henry do this and discover that the headpiece is in Al Kharid, the gem in Taverly, and the trees are on a small island in the very southern part of Gielinor. Henry suggests to get ready and go to Al Kharid first. Upon following the map to the exact point where the headpiece should be, you and Henry begin digging. Nothing. Henry gives up hope. But then you realize that the headpiece was probably placed here thousands of years ago and piles of sand must've covered it by now. With a ray of hope, you and Henry keep digging a hole at least 5 feet deep. Until you discover a stone slab. You remove the slab and to you and Henry's amazement, a cavern. You and Henry desend. Just make your way through the cavern which is filled with scorpions, spiders, snakes, and King Scorpions until you get to the central chamber (all paths will lead you to it eventually). At the central chamber, you should see a "Broken Headpiece", pick it up. You will say that it's broken but Henry will point out the giant furnace and will tell you that you can repair the piece with 2 gold bars. You then repair the piece in the furnace. (29 Crafting) You and Henry then leave the cavern. (Can be accessed after quest) The next item to find is the centre gem, in Taverly. According to the map, it is in Pikkupstix's house. However, the house has a basement, so the gem couldn't be there. Henry suggests to dig deeper in the basement to find the gem. After you find the gem, you will realize that it is too small to fit. But, Henry tells you that he can use an uncut ruby and make the entire gem! Finally, you must get to the island. Luckily, Henry has his own boat and you and Henry go to the island. After crashing on some rocks and swimming to shore. On the island, you find 3 Yezat Trees, the only ones left in the world, reluctantly, you cut 1 down. Next, you must go to the stone table on the island and with your saw, saw the log into a stick. (Note: If you use a raw herring on a Yezat tree, it says, "Odd, this tree is the mightiest tree in the forest") Go back to Henry and tell him that you made the stick. He will laugh and reveal himself as a member of the cult. He will then knock you out with a coconut (how cliche). Upon waking, you find yourself in a large and unfamiliar area, filled with some familiar faces: Duke Horatio, King Roald, Doric, King Arthur, Merlin, Henry, the Wise Old Man, Niles, Miles, Giles, Sir Amik Varse, Sir Tiffy Cashien, Party Pete, and the Mysterious Old Man, among others. However, they are all wearing the robes of the cult and you look to see 5 hooded "elders" near a strange altar. One of whom has the staff. During a cutscene which shows the elder summoning Dzia, you then attack and kill him and take the staff. Another elder tells Dzia to kill you. Now, the moment you've been waiting for! The fight against Dzia! Now, Dzia is very hard as he can hit up to a 60 and has 600 hitpoints! When you defeat Dzia, a cutscene will show you wielding the Staff of Arez, a beam of white energy bursting out of the staff, hitting the altar, and Dzia and the elders fading away. The screen then goes black as you pass out from loss of energy. When you awake, Henry congratulates you and tells you that the elders had all of them under mindcontrol. But you destroyed them and Dzia! Congratulations! Quest Complete! Reward ~~~~~ 20k XP in Attack, Strength, and Defence 50k XP in Woodcutting Staff of Arez Ability to go to the island and cut down Yezat trees.
