The item listing for salve shard says, "Players recommending getting several of these shards at once to make amulets, in case you lose one later."

 

 

 

I can't seem to get another shard. It tells me I already have a shard. I've made the first into an ammy. Went through getting back, and it still won't let me get another.

I believe if you drop the one you have right in front of the other crystals, before you cut another one, that should work. Then pick the one on the floor back up as soon as you can.

So I gotta go back to the bank, get my salve ammy, go back thru the whole riggamarole of getting back to the crystals, drop ammy, get new shard, drop shard, get another, ...
