these are my current stats, but im curious about range tanking.

atk-46

str-55

def-2

pray-43

range-75

magic-70

hp-66 combat-58

goal is to have:

atk-75

str-74

def-2

pray-52

range-99

magic-99

hp-99(max) combat-79

are void pure, 42 def, and tanking 90+ def worth the levels and will they be more profitable and successful? the same stats above with 99 def will put me at 104 combat, but i dont know about equipment or strategy. im also curious as to whether this type of pker can compete with the lvl 100+ guys running around with ags and d'haroks.

thanks for any help/advice.

Tank is the way to go (although I'm biased :-#) Well, personally I'd say stay range pure for a while to you get bored, then go up 18 def levels to initiate pure, and then go on to rune pker, then get 70/75 def and try some barrows pking. Ultimately try tanking, which is 80/90+ You dont have to go through all those "stages" of types of pkers, but I'm just throwing out all possible ideas that you can do atm.

Oh, and i dont know too much on Void pures :x But if you plan on pj'ing with a d bow, don't do it mann :shame: No one likes a pjer.

Get 70/70 Att/Str, leaving room for any errors you might make. Max should be 74/74, if you get 74/75 you"ll no longer be ranged based. Oh, and 70 pray is always nice for piety.

thanks for the help, i'll definitely keep it in mind. at the initiate and rune pure stages would i be ranging in that armor or what? and what kind of gear when up to the barrows and 80+ def stages? i've seen lots of vids with d bow pkers and they seem very successful so why would i want that?

At the initiate stage you'd be using full mystic (if you were melee'ing, you'd use full initiate), and an msb/crossbow/weapon of choice. I'll admit, I'm sort of stuck in the past with the old Wildy, so I'm not 100% sure how this pure would work out. In the old wilderness, you used the open space to chase down oppenents and wear them out of supplies and hopefully kill them. It'd look like something out of an elvemage video, freezing your target with anicents or entangle spells, while constantly ranging them. I'm not too sure how these pures play out 1v1

As a rune pure, you'd be mostly ranging (due to runes negative mage bonus) Think of it like a mini tank if you will. These fair very well in 1v1 pvp.

At 80+, I'd assume you'd have a decent mage/range level. Heres where you get the best of both worlds. You could either-

A) Tank Range - If you want to use high end armor, go with Torags helm, Verac skirt, barrows gloves, blk dhide body, dragon boots. For a cheaper subsitute, you could replace Torags helm, V skirt and dragon boots with Rune Helm/Skirt, D skirt, rune boots. You could even try mixing it up a bit, with Torag helm and Rune kite, and blk dhide body and chaps. Just find whatever suits you. If you find that you die too much with one setup, try another. You could also throw in Vengeance spell into the mix, which makes every 1v1 fight interesting ;)

B) Range/Mage Hybrid - These guys own a lot in multi, but theyre almost as good in 1v1. If you see some BH videos of DI or other top-notch clans, you'll see what I'm talking about. However, they're a bit more expensive due to rune costs. 9 times out of 10 you'll be on ancients. For this, you could go with Full ahrims, weapon of choice, infinity boots, and karils top and bottom (in inventory) I'd recommend brews and sup restores, as you'll need the best food source to keep you alive. If you dont have that much money to throw around, replace ahrims and infinity boots with mystic, and karils with blk dhide. You could also switch mystic hat for farseer helm, for an added def bonus.

And as for the Dark bow pkers, you could bring a Dark Bow as a means to KO, but I personally don't support people who stand back waiting for someone to get low on health, pop in and happen to get a lucky spec because the person was low on hp. If you actually fight the person instead of just running in, spec, run out, then I'd have no problem with it.

And whoa I think is my longest post to date xD
