in the getting around guide under jewellery there should be a sub-header about a digsite pendant(5). when operated it can be used to teleport to the digsite. must have completed the digsite quest and present a cleaned necklace to a museum worker who will teach you how to enchant ruby necklaces.

It's as valid a method of getting around as the Ectophial, which also only has a single destination and requires a quest.
