OK this is gonna be a long one, but to start it off remember back in the days from classic when pking was the thing to do:thumbup: and when we bragged about who was the best catchers \ , when merchanting was the best way to make tons of money, when all the rich pigs hung out at varrock, the low level pkers at castle and varrock, and I cant forget my wonderful drop partys that I threw after planning the event right here on tip.it! Oh yea i can remember this crazy drop party under falador when everyone knew about it and it was so packed the servers crashed at one point. and then we ended it with this huge train parade ahhaha it was awesome. i wish i could remember the dudes name that threw it. Anyways back then i had a few accounts, T-minus1 which was my main at the time lol his stats were so noob.. so i went on to make pure pkers,

 

S W A T, Popo Jr, a bunch of low level rangers and prayer beasts lol i was pretty deep into this game, and i was good at merchanting, and PKING, i miss catching and them good ol'pking days.. lol anyways you could say i was all around good player and to mention that i was loaded with money back then.

 

 

 

Well, I retired from runescape, ultimately after my account got jacked losing 2 christmas crackers, 3 sets of phats, a whole lot of lobbie certs, and gp. then 3d came out, also the big dupe effected my decision as well, which was the end of my days on runescape. After all that time i havent played a single time on 3d or the new runescape, and ive noticed alot of changes, and i cant seem to figure out how this will effect me.

So as you can probably tell I'm a prayer beast with pure str stats. Also i haven't played since classic. I am a f2p player only.

 

I am posting on here for all types of help or advice I can get from any experienced player. Here are some of my questions.

 

 

 

1. How strong is 40 att, 1 def, 70 str, ? HP, and 31 prayer? Will it be effective against rangers, or mages, in f2p?

 

2. What should I always be equipped with when pking? Is there any different items I should know about that could possible give me more of an advantage when pking?

 

I remember back then prayer beast would wear monks robe a ruby ammy, a r2h, carrying str pots, and lobbies. Is this still the same? How much of the system has change when in combat? I can use any kind of advice. I know this is kinda broad and i will learn as i get experience from the new pking system.

 

3. PvP? can everyone attack you no matter what level? is there wild pking anymore?

 

4. How much are Phats??

 

5. I got about 13k feathers i wanna sell. Anyone wanna buy???

 

6. Whats the easyiest way to get str. pots?

Sounds pretty good, f2p specific pking is NOT my strong point, but that sounds pretty much as good as it gets.

Well, it's all about rune scimmys these days. Str pot and swordfish. Since you're a pure it's still monk robes pretty much, for boots look up "stronghold of security" and get the botos from there (easy peasy). Ammy is still ruby, not a whole lot different really. Look up "First of guthix" in the game guide and see if there are any rewards there that appeal to you. There's no such thing as catching these days, no 3 turns before you can retreat or anything like that. Just run up to them, hack it out and hope they don't tele. I don't know what else i can say, i'm not all that experienced in classic to point out any differences.

 

 

 

 

3. PvP? can everyone attack you no matter what level? is there wild pking anymore?

 

 

 

Now wild pking. Now it's pvp -worlds-, instead od just the wilderness area. I believe it's the equivilent of level 5 (or is it 10) of the old wildy, and the drops the other player drops are not related to what theyre wearing, just random chance pretty much. You can read mroe specifics in the game guide section of runescape.com . I know i keep saying read guides, but there's a boo kto be written for every one of these questions :P Theres also a minigame called "bounty hunter" which works in a vaguely similar way to the old wild: with drops being what the player was wearing, but there are differences, major ones, so read up on that too :)

The Grand exchange is a great place that everyone complains about when we should really be happy we have one.

 

 

 

Also R2h's are considered slow and only usable to "finish off" your opponent and you are suppost to use a rune scimmy to do most of the damage.

What he said basically. I -THINK- that jagex slowed down the attack speed of 2hers since classic, meaning it's really slow, and scim works out better, even though it has a slightly slower max hit.

 

 

 

As for the GE, it's good when it works, just be careful, it's SO easy to sell things that it's easy to get lazy :P don't let that happen, make sure to test what you can sell thigns for if you can. For example try selling 10 feathers at max, min, and middle prices, then work out roughly the highest price you can get overall and sell them all for that.

Use a tean of beans if you want, but the scimmy will be more effective. There ARE better weapons out there, you'll come accross them when you read up on pvp worlds, "corrupt" dragon weapons. Expensive and don't last long. But if you're rich ;)

Party hats are worth ALOT now. at least 100m+.
