So I recently made a new character just for kicks. I understood that Tutorial Island is now a thing of the past, and instead, you go through the tutorial by killing a dragon with a White knight in Lumbridge, or something like that. When I logged in for the first time, though, I found myself on the one and only Tutorial Island, with no dragons anywhere to be found! It was the exact same tutorial that I had done three years ago when I started RS for the first time. Why is this happening? Did Jagex get rid of the new tutorial already?

 

 

 

Anyway, on a more interesting note: I noticed the combat tutor, Vannaka, is combat level 146. I also remember from back in the day, he was 146 when I made my first account, and that was long before the release of Summoning, which is the only way players can get their combat level above 120. Could this mean that the secrets of Summoning have been known long before the rest of RuneScape found out?

 

 

 

EDIT: Apparently Vannaka is also a Slayer Master. (Yeah, I didn't know that, I'm F2P, so sue me. -.- )

Sorry, but that's really old. Jagex are making the new tutorial better, so they put the Tut. island back as a starting point.

Oh, I see. So, if I waited for a bit, and then made another character, I'd get the cooler, newer tutorial? I hope so. The old one was not particularly enthralling.

Locking this - They removed the new tutorial a while ago and Tutorial island put back in.

 

 

 

Also you could have 126 combat before summoning and 138 without so that theory is incorrect.
