my range tank stats are.. 40 def, 79 range, 69 hp, 34 mage, and 44 prayer (70 cb). i asked before if its doomed or not and got an answer to get to 91 range since thats where my hp will be greater then my combat and thats awesome for a tank. and if mage would be good. both were answered but one last question i hope..

are 2h rangers gonna be a problem around 91? i took it out for a run after getting up to almost 80 and had 400k in the bank so thought id have fun. a few hours later i began thinking what has been killing me cause i now have only 75k.. 2h/rangers are like picking me off like a fly and its so weird cause their like 5 levels lower. ive been being pking right and not safeing. (their maxes around 20 usually ive seen) so i go to 21 and if they hit again ill eat.. but you know how k0's go and wahbam one hit with range and they instantly bring out 2h and hit again for the last hits to take me to 0. im rambling on so ill just let you answer the question.

 

 

 

Also is there any advice fighting these?

Its doomed atm, but once you get 91 range you will see the true benefits of tanking.

 

 

 

Keep training. If 77 is your limit for ranging, then yep - its doomed.

 

 

 

Any 'pure' ought to strive to have higher hitpoints than combat level.

thanks, and nope 77 isnt my stopping point but it just felt like i was doing more dying then killing. im not really one to tele away unless someone's gonna knock me out faster then i can eat. that does make sense though. ill strive for 91+ (and wow do i have a long way to go lol)

Fire blasting is only effective when done in groups of 5+ - aka luring. If you were to fight 1v1 against someone maging you - feel happy in the knowledge you will beat them. Perhaps you might consider taking a pair of dhide legs/body if you are that concerned, but really not a lot of need.

 

 

 

Definitely train your mage though as it improves your mage defence, 60 should be your first goal - then use spare cash to raise it as you can afford it.

ive usually used d'hide legs..never did dragonslayer so usually either wear rune chain or monk. then i wear rune full helm, dhide vambs, maple short bow of course, and either holy symbol or power ammy. i have really never been afraid of mages but it was just a question cause i could throw a fireblast at a meleer wearing rune. but i didnt know if since id be wearing stuff that - from mage atk then i didnt know if it would be real useful

It might work against a newbie. Start off in mage gear and mage away hoping they take off rune, then switch to range/R2H combo to deal the final blows while you have them low hp.

A range tank in mid BH is someone with 99 range, 90 def, 44 pray while still under the 101 combat mark. 40 def is a rune pure, not a tank.

 

 

 

40 def provides very little additional benefit to a range. Rune helm, and rune chain, or dhide body is all the extra protection you get.

 

 

 

Str pures with 40 def though get to wear full rune - so its more beneficial for them.

are we even talking pure anymore? if i got purely def and the hp xp that comes with that ill be 79 range, 79 cb, 71 hp, and 44 prayer.. i know im not pure yet but at 91 range i could be back again as i was saying. but in that case what will i be? at 91 range i could probably be accurate enough to use the rune chainmail, full helm, d'hide chaps and vambs, and still be awesome in world pvp at 79 combat? rune pures would be 2 levels lower then me in combat saying that they're str is my level in range and they'll only be 40 atk which means im faster and more accurate even though they can hit higher.

 

 

 

all in all ive done one of these

 

1. ive either messed this account up and have like 2 years of work ahead of me to get it fixed to be range tank

 

2. ive messed this account up completely for 2h/ranger

 

3. ive stumbled onto something nice and just keep getting range up

 

 

 

i really dont wanna make another main cause txxxt5 is really boring in f2p right now and thats not what i wanna do with xturtx
