Guest andyizcool
I've tried switching on my pc for the last two days and as I press the power button it doesn't come on. Nothing happens and I know the fuse hasn't blown because I tried a power lead from another pc in it too. It's been like this since Friday night and I can't phone the pc company until tomorrow. Any ideas what's wrong with it? Thanks for any help.
Mercifull
PSU could be dead. Try using a psu from another pc if possible. Greatsilverwyrm
Nothing happens? No fans, no lights, nothing? Then it's probably PSU-related... If you get lights/fans or whatever, your problem is probably more complicated..
Guest andyizcool
Thanks for your help. I got it fixed at the computer shop a few minutes ago. It was the PSU had a surge so I need to buy some surge protected plugs for it so it'll never happen again.
thebeave
Its always good to have your computer plugged into a surge protector. You are lucky it was just the PSU. I've also seen modems fried during an electric storm too. http://www.strange-facts.com
Mercifull
If a PSU surges you can even lose the whole computer. Fried hard drive, mobo and gfx card.
