I got an photoshop/flash question....

Featured Replies

u see i got this problem, i ve looked everywhere for a decent adobe tutorial on how to make a shine effect such as the words in my sig...

can someone plz tell me how to accomplish this feat either in adobe photoshop elements 3 or flash mx 6????

You won't be able to do it in Photoshop (possibly newer versions, probably not elements) but in Flash all you need to do is make a white shape with feathered edges, like in your sig, and set the text as a mask. Start a motion tween with the white shape on the left, then end it with the white shape on the right. When its tweened together... it should go quickly from left to right, giving it a flash effect.

Ok well I wasn't very specific but its sometimes nice to learn something on your own with programs ;)

If not.... Go look about google. ;) A little bit of effort never hurt anyone.

adobe is a company, not a program.

lol i used adobe as a shorter name for 'adobe photoshop elements 3.0' i completely realize that adobe is the developer of photoshop

Just a stupid rant I know, but why don't you use acronyms like "Photoshop" and "PS" like normal people and don't make us guess which of the wide range of Adobe's programs you are referring to.

To make the effect if PS. Create text. Create a new layer on top. Hold alt (or option) and click between layers. Set the upper layer to blend mode Screen. Select the black to white to black gradient and make a diagonal one. Voila.

Go to ImageReady (if you have it...if you dont...you cant animate it in your abode software) and look at any ImageReady tutorial to figure out how to animate the white flash.

Calm down, by the way, by saying Adobe and by that meaning a product, it could be any Adobe product, and believe me they have made alot more products than Photoshop.
