omg I cannot even do the first row, any tips?

I could give you a link to the wiki runescape article, or the topic in the guides forum, or even a link to tip its own section on how to do them.

 

 

 

But if you cant even do the first row then I highly doubt any of these will help at all.

Would it help memorizing which piece goes where?

Not really, since we can't provide step by step instructions for solving them. Go look at the treasure trails guide on tip.it and use their plans.
