Bad911
I need to get Smithing to 69, and I need to know the most efficient (best amount of gp per xp) method, thanks. :] EDIT: Currently 56 Smithing. Yeah, ok, lets just list the 10 fastest/cheapest ways to get there. Stats first? EDIT: Iron ore (w/ ring of forgies)>Iron bars>Iron knives Until you reach 60, then go to the Blast Furnace straight to 69 with mithril bolts, Mithril ore & coal>Mithril bolts, sell when done. You'll never have to leave the blast furnance for anything, just bring a hammer, a bunch of money, and your coal and mithril ore noted. You'll gain around 2-4 mil. ladycai
You'll profit doing steel bars/iron bars, but it's awfully slow for the XP. Plenty of f2pers use that, but yeah ... The only way "cost efficent" would be making your own bars (to break even) or losing massive gp for what you make (look at steel items per se. They're 600gp per bar.. plates are 1.2k, but the mats for it costs 3k) 95/99 Summoning95/99 Slayer [hide=This is what you look like when you play RS too long][/hide]
Bad911
Wow, finished my calculations and it all deleted, lol. Let me try it again.... EDIT: [hide=]Calculations from 56-60. 184,040xp at 56. 2,393 Iron smelting and smithing to 60. Total: 236,907gp to 60 smithing. 140 iron ore for 1 ring of forging. 18 ring of forgings for 60 smithing. Total: 19,530gp to 60 smithing. Total commission: 256,437gp 1 iron bar = 5 iron knives. Total: 394,845gp for 11,965 knives. Total Profit: 138,408gp Calculations from 60-69 (blast furnace). *Blast furnace cuts your coal by half. You can stay there forever, just bring gp to un-note the ore, coal and mithril, bring a hammer, and make mithril bolts. 4,929 Mithril smithing and smelting for 69. Total: 1,242,108gp for 4,929 Mithril ore. 1,695,576gp for 9,858 coal. 81gp to un-note 1 mithril ore. 22.5gp to un-note 1 coal. Total: 399,249gp for 4,929 Mithril ore. 221,805gp for 9,858 coal. Total commission: 3,558,738gp. 1 mithril bar = 10 mithril bolts 83gp per 1 bolt. 49,290 bolts. Total: 4,091,070gp Total Profit: 532,332gp[/hide] If you do it my way, you'll gain around 670,740gp. I don't know your exact exp, so this is from 56. When you do the Blast Furnace. Bring: 621,054gp to un-note 4,929 Mithril ore. 9,858 Coal. Hammer **This is based off present time prices, i would say prices will average each other out, as materials are going up, mithril bolts go up as well. The Blast Furnace is awesome, it is really fast because it smelts your ore automatically, so your getting smithing and smelting exp at the same. Don't try to go to the Blast Furnace under level 60, you need level 60 to get access to the anvils there. The bank is so far away, its pointless. ***By commission, i mean the amount of money you need to use to start the project.
