December 17, 200817 yr So I need 72 woodcutting for Back to my Roots. I was planning on woodcutting willows, but I might consider switching to teaks. My question is would it be worth cutting teaks at 65 woodcutting, or would it just be a waste of time? Should I wait till 70, or would even that not be enough? With smithing I'm getting it to 69 for Rocking Out. I'm 55 right now and the only decent methods I know of are smelting gold and the blast furnace. My question is are there any better methods out there? Money isn't much of a problem, as long as it doesn't cost too much.
December 17, 200817 yr do superheating mith bars to 55 (i did 54-60 so it is doable usually break even or a lil profit) then do blast furnace and smith the mithril bars into mithril bolts 1100 total achieved 03/02/09 880thousandth to reach it :P1200 total achieved 29/09/11 1.23millionth to reach it :P
December 17, 200817 yr For smithing look into the new SC tools, making mith items with the tools will get you 69 very quickly and it shouldn't cost too much. EDIT - Signature far exceeds our sig limits but since it's so colourful you can keep it.
December 17, 200817 yr For woodcutting, teaks cut at about the same rate as willows, so if you want to cut them, go for it. It would be better xp/hour than willows.
December 17, 200817 yr Author I tried superheating mithril bars, did about 100, and it was very cheap as you said but it was very slow exp. I might try volatile hammers if I can be bothered to play stealing creation again. And thanks for the info on teaks. If anyone else has any good information regarding smithing it would be nice to hear it :D
December 18, 200817 yr Great smithing method I found! Buy iron ores in increments of 140 and rings of forging (iron ores are ~100 each, rings are about 1100 each). Go smelt all the ores into bars, getting a 100% success rate with the rings of forging. A good place to do this is Al Kharid. With an empty inventory, each ring lasts for 5 loads (28 x 5 = 140). Next, go to varrock west bank, take out the Stealing Creation hammer for the doubled experience, and smith iron knives. I turn out a PROFIT (yes, that's right!) of ~75 gp per bar, and I can usually get 10k experience an hour, simply walking, not running, and occasionally forgetting to click the screen for a few seconds because I'm watching a vid on Youtube. I just got 55-60 with this method, and it's enjoyable. Do about 5 rings' worth at a time to help keep things changing up and prevent boredom.
