I really like the second one from the edited photos for some reason. I think it's because the simplicity of that one works really well. Nice job. (<- Wow, that smiley looks stupid with a Christmas hat on...)

Thanks, I like it for it's simplicity too ::'

The second one is also my favorite; although, I think if you were to edit out the blurry lights on the far left, it would look better. Just my opinion. They're all very nice, what kind of camera do you use?

There good, but not great.

Edited Photos:

1. Way, way too much white. It burns, and you cannot read it. I think it says hope or noel...but??

2. This one is good. The composition is good, and the rule of thirds is really working here. The depth and idea is great. Your best one here.

3. This one just seems like a wee snapshot. Nothing special, or amazing. There are distracting things fringed down the bottom, and it is just a very boring angle.

Play up with angles. Take something from the ground to give it a sense of magnitude. Play up with perspective. Yo usee, when you do this most of the photos will suck, but there will be the noes which shine, because they have broken the basic rules of photography.

Unedited:

1. This is downright horrible. It lacks composition, everything is very distracting, and very flat. It looks like you used flash. Urgh.

Try not to resort to flash. Pump up the ISO instead. It may or may not produce noise in your photo, but DSLRs are usually very good in noise-reduction, compared to lousy compacts. And even if you do see some specs of noise, you can remove them via photoshop, or they may even enhance the photo by giving it an oldie, gritty feel.

Flowers:

1. This is quite cool. The soft lighting and colours, and the blurriness make this a stellar photo. The depth is really good, and the background isn't blurry enough so you don't know what the thing behind it is.

Overall, quite good photos. You have a lot to improve on though ::'

I'm not sure if I like the sephia/desaturation on some of the edited ones. The first one is okay but I feel like it could use more contrast. Something about it just doesn't seem right. The sephia works well for the second one ("Christmas Star"). It's probably my favourite of the edited bunch.

I'm not a fan of the unedited one though. There's way too much going on and because of that, the focus seems really strange. It's like the outsides are in focus but the middle is out of focus. It's hard to know where to look.

I really like the flower one :) I think the colours are really nice.

It's not sepia, it's a orange/blue gradient map on overlay blending mode :P
