My dad gets on my nerves. This is the situation. I have a computer downstairs. we have a wireless network for his laptop. now he used to be able to print now he cant. he can still access the internet. anyways he claims when i put in zone alarm on my computer thats when he couldnt print anymore. does anyone know if thats why he cant print? and if its not what he can do to be able to use the printer again from his laptop thanks.

Yeah, firstly you should ALWAYS back track to what you did before this problem occured. The next step is you always run a virus and spyware scan(s), worst case scenairo you get added reasurances your computer is virus free. Then you investigate what the problem is. The firewalls are usually very tricky but zone alarm being an intutive program it asks you when another computer is trying to access your own. If you don't see it showing you, than youll have to change the alert level settings to the maimum, thus informing you of everything. The next step is to find out your IP address, always allow your own ip address and 127.0.0.1 (Another way of saying your own IP adress) so that your computer can basically access itself. Windows generally uses this to fix wireless internet connections and report system functions. Programs will automatically be blocked and make sure you have a valid and up to date anti virus scanner checking for trojans all the time.
