A New Computer?

I'm looking for a new computer. I have about £350 to spend, I could maybe go a wee bit above but it'd have to be worth it. I'm not really that good with computers and want a fairly good base unit, with decent performance for light gaming - no new games - just the old driving games - pretty low quality stuff, internet browsing and word processing for uni (which isn't 'till next year but best to prepare).

I don't want a laptop as I'm staying at home don't need it and I know enough to know that you get less for your money with laptops.

I've seen a few base units with 1GB RAM but I'm not sure if this is good enough for vista as my sisters laptop has 1GB and is sluggish. I've looked at the DELL website and tried a "build your own" option, but when I chose some options (2GB RAM etc.) it brought the price up too much.

I've looked at this one: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/151923 which seems pretty good but I don't know that much.

Do any of you guys know if there are any good deals to be had just now within the UK in my price range or should I just concede defeat and accept that the ebuyer one is the best I'm gonna get for my money just now?

Thanks in advance.

Found that on the Dell website.

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz

2GB RAM

Vista

500GB Hard drive

ATI Radeon HD 2400 Graphics Card

This comes without a monitor, which I assume is fine as you said you wanted just a tower?

It fits the price range, too.

You can always buy a 2GB stick of RAM from a shop and fit it yourself, it's very easy to do and a 2GB stick will only be about £40.

You probably won't need 3GB of RAM though, I use my pc for similar things as you will, and my RAM usage only peaks at around 1.1GB.

From my research (since I know next to nothing about ATI gfx cards), the Radeon HD 2400 seems like an OK card, an entry level video card.

The 8400 GS on the pc you linked to is pretty decent.

The pc you linked to in your original post is actually pretty good, 3GB RAM, decent gfx card, Core 2 Duo cpu etc.

That pc would be a good buy as far as I can tell, there's nothing I can see that's particularly bad about it.

It looks like a good pc for what you will use it for.

I've got a Zoostorm pc, too, nothing bad I can say about them.
