Kellis Posted December 27, 2008 Share Posted December 27, 2008 I've found that an excellent way to gain smithing experience and not lose money is to smelt iron bars with Rings of Forging, and then use the Stealing Creation hammer to turn them into iron knives. You gain smelting + double smithing experience, and the knives actually sell for a profit on the GE. It's decently fast for gaining levels and makes a profit, which can then be invested into gold ores for smithing with goldsmithing gauntlets.
